Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank”! This 2024 comedy horror, directed by Amar Kaushik and penned by Niren Bhatt, is the fourth tale in the Maddock Supernatural Universe, picking up where “Stree” left off in 2018. Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana join forces once more. This time, they battle Sarkata, a menacing headless figure terrorizing Chanderi’s women. Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, it’s a mix of laughter and goosebumps in one thrilling package.
Movie Plot:
After leaving Chanderi, Stree earns respect from the townspeople with a statue and the phrase “O Stree Raksha Karna” (Oh Woman Protect Us). Years later, Chanderi faces a new threat from Sarkata, a headless ghost who abducts women at night. The townspeople mistakenly think the women left for better prospects. Rudra receives an anonymous letter with missing pages from Chanderi Puran, warning “Vo Aayega” (He will come). Concerned, Rudra tells Vicky, who dismisses him. One night, Sarkata abducts Bittu’s girlfriend Chitti. A beggar confirms the ghost’s existence. “She” explains Sarkata’s identity to Vicky. Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra discover Sarkata is the vengeful spirit of Chandrabhan, a village head who hated progressive women and killed Stree and her husband. Stree beheaded Chandrabhan and his associates before leaving Chanderi. Realizing they need Stree’s help, the friends seek Jana in Delhi. Jana, living with his cousin Bhaskar, agrees to help. Sarkata attacks, dragging Jana’s spirit to his lair. Jana finds the abducted women and escapes. “She” saves the group by using Stree’s braid.
